Bow Hunting
Hides
- There are two pit blinds strategically positioned at different watering points.
- Each hide is constructed from recycled materials and is designed to blend into the surroundings.
- Prevailing wind directions and game approach lines have been taken into account.
- The hides comfortably accommodate up to two persons.
- These factors ensure the hunter has the optimum bow hunting opportunity on the day
- There is also a tank hide at the Buffalo Wallow.
R450 Hunting Tariff Per Day
- Includes 1 drop off and 1 collection of hunters to the hides and collection of animals.
- R200 per additional drop off/collection
- Includes Services of skinner and tracker
- Field preparation of carcasses
Hide Rules
- Please keep as quiet as possible.
- NEVER leave the hide on your own.
- If you have shot an animal or finished hunting; whether you have shot an animal, wounded it or think you have missed, please call one of the cell phone numbers provided and someone will come and attend to you. Only on this occasion are you permitted to leave the blind.
- Please call when there are no animals near the water.
- If nature calls, there is a bottle in the hide for you to use.
- Smoking in the hide is not permitted.
- If you release an arrow on an animal that could not be found or when you have a missing arrow that could not be found within half an hour, we will assume the animal has been wounded and the full amount for the animal will be payable.
- If blood is found, we assume the animal has been wounded and the follow up will be done with a rifle.
- Photographs may be taken but please ensure the flash is turned off.
- NEVER shoot at an animal when another is standing behind it. BE ETHICAL.
- Only three arrows allowed in the blind. No Bow bags.
General Rules
- All hunting is done from the hide.
- Walk and stalk is available accompanied by a tracker
- All animals wounded are payable at full tariffs.
- Sub-adult animals - full tariff (except where listed differently).
- Competency test to be completed before hunting.
- Practise range is situated close to the Shayamoya Lodge.
- Air rifles, catapults, motorcycles and pets are not allowed on the reserve.
- Do not remove or damage any plants, wood or equipment in our reserve.
- Thank you for not littering.
- The supply of liquor to our staff is strictly prohibited.
- No vehicles are allowed to drive around after sunset or to use a spotlight without a guide or by prior arrangement.
- Speed limit on the reserve is 30 km / hour.
- These rules are designed for your benefit and those following you, to ensure that all enjoy a good hunting experience.
